Monique Davis, RYT 200
Yoga for Monique is about being connected to everything, yet attached to nothing. The physical practice is what drew her in, but the mental benefits are what kept her coming back. Monique loves the challenge the asanas can bring, but diving deeper into the yogic journey and exploring the other limbs has been most fulfilling. As a former gymnast/gymnastics coach, turned physical & health education teacher; (over a decade in each role) yoga felt like the perfect fit. After completing her 200-hour vinyasa training with Kathleen Maroney in 2019, a whole new way of being and living was presented. Monique is excited to be branching out in the field (Exercise Science and Health degree from 2010) and continuing to learn (completed a 100-hour Rocket Yoga certification in 2020) and enhance her teaching style with broadened tools. Monique’s style of teaching emphasizes the importance of mind, body & soul and the innate connection between the emotional and physical bodies. By giving high energy, encouraging classes, that mindfully introduce a new level of challenge, while instilling strong foundational skills, Monique makes yoga not only accessible, but engaging for all! Passionate about wellness and healing; Monique uses yoga to bring balance and encouragement to others to unlock their true potential, by unpacking and settling into their authentic-highest self. Besides vinyasa and power yoga, Monique also enjoys learning the Ashtanga practice, as well as dabbling in restorative yoga styles for balance.
