Chris Kopcha, RYT 500

Chris Kopcha has been an active part of the shoreline fitness community for over 15 years.

Originally studying music before teaching in public schools, in 2007 Chris relocated to Old Saybrook when she got married and enjoys the beach life here with her husband JL, and 3 cats.

Her fitness journey started as a running coach, group exercise instructor and personal trainer. One day after boot camp, she joined some friends for a last-minute yoga class and fell in love. It was the missing piece she was looking for as an endurance triathlete and coach, and it became the beginning of a journey where she continues to learn about herself as it teaches her many lessons she practices both on and off her mat. Drawn in by the challenging asanas, her deeper learnings are linking the body, breath, and heart together as one through movement and music. She reminds us every day is different, and by meeting ourselves on the mat as we are and challenging ourselves while showing grace, is where true growth lies.

Chris completed both her 200- and 300-hour teacher trainings with The Yoga Shop, graduating with her RYT 500-hour LivFree® certification.
